Pen Bay Community Health & Wellness is dedicated to improving the health of the community. Our mission is to inform and empower patients, families, community members and hospital staff by providing health information, education and resources. We sponsor a variety of classes and other events to help you stay well, learn about your health and manage your health conditions. We offer health education classes, screenings, events and outreach programs, including the 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go! program for Knox County. Let’s Go! is a nationally recognized healthy lifestyle program that focuses on creating communities that support children and families in healthy eating and active living. Community Health & Wellness is located at the Picker Family Resource Center, 756 Commercial Street (Rt.1) in Rockport and is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Pen Bay Medical Center and MaineHealth have a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of our community and the people we serve. In keeping with that mission, MaineHealth and its member organizations offer a wide range of community programs and services free of charge. Each year the Community Benefit Report is published to share the compelling stories about the people and families whose lives are touched by the MaineHealth community, and the dedicated staff who provide that care. Community Health Forum
The Knox County Community Health Coalition, Maine CDC, Midcoast District Coordinating Council and Pen Bay Medical Center recently held three community discussions about community health needs identified in the most recent Community Health Needs Assessment: cancer, alcohol and substance abuse, and infectious disease.
The purpose of these forums was to present key findings from the assessment, learn from community members about what is important to them, and begin to identify community health priorities for Knox County.
If you were unable to attend a forum, you can review the data here. Please take a few moments to give us your feedback in the survey(s) below.
