The Picker Family Resource Center is dedicated to improving the health of the community. Our mission is to inform and empower patients, families, community members and hospital staff by providing health information and resources. We sponsor a variety of classes and other events to help you stay well, learn about your health and manage your health conditions. We offer health education classes, screenings, events, outreach programs and the use of our facilities to support health education throughout the community. The Picker Center is at 756 Commercial Street (Rt.1) in Rockport and is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Diabetes & Nutrition Care Center

iStock_000005554413MediumThe Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center provides both nutritional counseling for a wide variety of medical conditions and diabetes education in individual or group settings. Our team includes registered dietitians and registered nurses with special training in diabetes education. The Center is recognized by the American Diabetes Association as offering high-quality education services to the patients it serves. Learn about the diabetes education classes available after you complete your one-on-one diabetes consults.

Cardiac Rehab

Our multidisciplinary team includes a variety of specialists to meet your needs. Cardiac rehabilitation can help to shorten recovery time, increase your strength and energy and lower your risk for future heart problems.

ExercisePen Bay’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program can help improve the quality of your life by helping you to breathe easier. We provide education, support and training to increase strength and stamina for anyone who suffers from breathing problems. Our team of Respiratory Therapists, Nurses, Exercise Specialists, Nutritionists, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists all work together to help you to live a better life with lung disease.

Community Health

Pen Bay Healthcare and MaineHealth have a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of our community and the people we serve.  In keeping with that mission, MaineHealth and its member organizations offer a wide range of community programs and services free of charge. Community Health Forum
The Knox County Community Health Coalition, Maine CDC, Midcoast District Coordinating Council and Pen Bay Medical Center invite you to join us for a community discussion about community health needs identified in the most recent Community Health Needs Assessment: cancer, alcohol and substance abuse, and infectious disease.

The purpose of the forum is to present key findings from the assessment, learn from community members about what is important to them, and begin to identify community health priorities for Knox County.
