April 10, 2014 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm| Free
Kno-Wal-Lin Homecare and Hospice presents Health Matters with Kno-Wal-Lin every 2nd Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.
The April presentation is “Staying Involved: The Health Benefits of Volunteerism” on Thursday, April 10 .
Studies show that involved people are happier and healthier people. Joy Chamberlin, Kno-Wal-Lin’s home care volunteer coordinator; Cheryl Feldpausch, Penquis RSVP volunteer specialist and Mariah Smith, community coordinator for Five Town Communities That Care will share their experiences of the benefits of volunteerism and how caring for others can really be one of the best ways to care for yourself. You may also be surprised to discover the diverse ways in which your own community could use your help.
Health Matters with Kno-Wal-Lin, is a program in collaboration with the Picker Family Resource Center, to explore the ways in which home health and community services can promote one’s best health and well-being at home. Programs are free and are open to all ages, but space is limited. Please call 596-8950 to register.
The Picker Family Resource Center is located on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus, 3 Glen Cove Drive, Suite 2, between Urology and Womens Health.
