The goal at Pen Bay Healthcare is to provide the best healthcareWellBeing, NovDec08, p1 image to all individuals residing in Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln counties.

Beyond the acute care services offered at the medical center and skilled nursing facilities, Community Health will achieve this by linking residents to healthcare resources that will help them to live healthier lives and, ultimately, improve the community as a whole.

We're working to provide the most up to date resources and listings.

Pen Bay Healthcare is offering a training program to prepare volunteer lay persons from all area faith communities to provide pastoral care and companionship to individuals and those close to them who are experiencing the effects of illness, surgery, incapacitation, loss of independence, death and bereavement.

The program will be held this spring on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. for 10 weeks beginning April 1 and ending June 3. Application deadline is Jan. 30. FMI: Laura Edwards, 596-8546 or ledwards@penbayhealthcare.org    Read more now.
