PBMC Quilt: Legend of the Squares

 

  1. The Auxiliary's PBMC Fair heralded the holiday season for many years, raised many thousands of dollars for the hospital, and was famous for its beautiful hand-decorated wreaths.  This "apple wreath" square has a bow from the old Wreath Room.  Quilt square created by Patty Kahn.
  2. Helicopters and ambulances bring patients from the surrounding towns and islands, and EMS people are part of the extended PBMC family.  Quilt square created by Connie Belyea.

  4. Anyone who works at PBMC will recognize the animals we see here so often:  osprey, deer, red fox, and killdeer (and a stray bunny).  Quilt square created by Jan Muddle.

  6. Education and information are constant in health care, and PBMC prides itself on being a learning organization. The library is named for Dr. Niles Perkins, who worked on the original PBMC concept.  Quilt square created by Patty Kahn.

  8. The Employee Picnic is an annual event in the early fall.  Remember the balloon rides?  Quilt square created by Van Laliberte.

  10. A volunteer fills a birdfeeder in one of PBMC's many beautiful gardens, an important part of our healing environment.  Quilt square created by Sue Thieme.

  12. Technology has made huge advances in PBMC's 25 years, here represented by a CAT scan, EKG, and the new Computerized Information System.  Quilt square created by Betsy Giustra.
