Dr. Julie White
Vascular Surgeon
Dr. White has extensive experience managing vascular problems and can offer the latest procedures to the patients of Midcoast Maine. Dr. White holds a degree from Boston University School of Medicine and is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery.
She works with a team of well-qualified surgeons, nurses and staff who have graduated from accredited colleges or universities and are licensed through the State of Maine and appropriate professional organizations. Many of our practitioners hold specialty degrees in their area of practice, including wound therapy and stomal care.
Vascular conditions encompass diseases of the arteries and veins outside the heart. VASCULAR SURGERY
Vascular surgery is a specialty which evolved from general and cardiac surgery. Diseases of the vascular system are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, laser procedures and surgical reconstruction. Medical therapy often includes lifestyle changes and some medications. Minimally-invasive catheter procedures include balloon angioplasty and stent placement. Laser therapy is often used for venous diseases. Vascular reconstruction is offered for more advanced levels of diseases.

The Vascular Lab at Pen Bay offers many noninvasive studies to evaluate arterial and venous disease. These include carotid artery duplex exams, peripheral arterial exams and venous imaging. These labs can be performed as screening exams or as diagnostic exams, and may be ordered by your primary care physician.

The Wound Healing Center at Pen Bay provides interdisciplinary wound care services to residents of the greater Midcoast region. We provide coordinated wound care by consulting with specialists and making referrals for patient follow-up as needed. The Wound Healing Center at Pen Bay is under the medical direction of Dr. Julie White and has the benefit of a certified wound and ostomy care nurse.
