A Commitment to Our Community: The Rehabilitation
Services Department at Penobscot Bay Medical Center provides high quality health care with personalized and professional attention.

We work with clients who come to our well-equipped outpatient clinics.  

Physical therapists (PTs) diagnose and treat movement dysfunction related to orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric or sports conditions and injuries as well as numerous other dysfunctions. In this photo, ATC Paul Surette, helps a high school athlete. Foot therapy

At Penobscot Bay Medical Center our PTs provide thorough individual evaluations for appropriate diagnosis and one-on-one treatment. We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully help our patients attain their goals.  

Occupational therapists (OTs) provide evaluation and treatment to patients to assist them in improving their ability to perform daily activities. The OTs at PBMC specialize in evaluation and treatment with a specific emphasis on the social, emotional and psychological effects of the patient's injury, including adaptive equipment fitting each patient's needs. They also provide guidance to patients and their families on a successful return to home- and work-related activities.Hand therapy

Specialized hand therapy is a melding of both physicial and occupational therapy, focusing on injury prevention and the restoration of upper-extremity function. Hand therapists use  special training and knowledge to help patients attain their optimal recovery. In this photo,  Cathie Dorr, OT, works on hand therapy.

    Also, we offer a Sports Medicine Clinic Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. with Dr. Gregory Leather, Board certified Sports Medicine Physician. All area athletes, high school, collegiate, and recreational are appropriate clients.
