Jim Carroll
Jim is Health Connection's Executive Director. He has been with  PenBay Healthcare since 1987. He attended Burbank Hospital School of Nursing and Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Mass.  and graduated with a nursing degree in 1978.

Although he is the executive director he still stays active in clinical nursing, working in emergency medicine. He holds a cerificate in Occuaptional Health Program Management is also certifeid in occuaptional audiology and drug and alcohol testing.

Lise A. Desjardins
Lise is a Family Nurse Practioner at Health Connections; she's been with Pen Bay Healthcare for eight years. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Maine and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Maine in Orono.

Michael Gallagher
Mike is a Physical Therapist and has been with Pen Bay Healthcare for 4 1/2 years. Has received a bachelor of science degree in biology from The College of New Jersey and a master's degree in physical therapy from the Drexel University College of Medicine.

Quote: "What do I like best about my job? It gives me the opportunity to help our patients and clients regain and maintain their health through a variety of methods (direct treatment, consultation, and teaching)."

Charity Gamage
Charity is an Occupational Health Tech/Clerical Specialist atHealth Connections. She has been Pen Bay Healthcare for six years. She is currently working on her associate's degree in registered nursing.

What does she enjoy about working at Health Connections? "I learn something new every day."

David L. Hall, MD
David is a Family Physician practicing for 26 years in Rockport and Co-Medical Director of Health Connections. He received his MD in 1977 from McGill University in Montreal and served   Residency at York Hospital in York, Pa.

He says: "The greatest satisfaction as a family doctor is in the relationship which develops over years with patients and families. Each day has challenges, opportunities to learn, and the hope of helping patients with their problems and illnesses. I see the person as part of the larger family unit. When one is affected, so are others.

"In Occupational Medicine, I enjoy the problem solving which arises from the the physical demands of a job in their effects on the individual. Each case needs to be approached as a win-win situation for the patient-employee, and the employer."

Vicki L. Hooper

Vicki is a clerical specialist who has been wih Pen Bay Healthcare for 24 1/2 years. She is a graduate of Camden-Rockport High School and studied for social services two years at the University of Southern Maine.

Sandy Lowe
Sandy is a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She started at Pen Bay Healthcare as a kitchen aide, working from 1979-83, when she left to attend nursing school at Southern Maine Technical College in Portland. Although her college was based in Portland, all her classes were held at Pen Bay Healthcare here in the Midcoast. Sandy returned to Pen Bay Healthcare as an LPN in 1989.

What does she like best about her job? " Giving back to my community. The staff I work with and the different things I get to do as a nurse."

Ira Mandel, MD, MPH
Ira, a family physician with a rich background in practice, teaching and in healthcare administration for over 20 years, is delighted to join PenBay Healthcare in support of Health Connections. 

 

In addition to taking care of patients, Dr. Mandel belongs to several organizations that evaluate and improve the quality of healthcare, from the level of insurance companies to individual doctor practices.   He also served on the medical school teaching faculty of Brown University and the University of South Florida and received his Masters of Public Health Degree in 2001. 

Dr. Mandel looks forward to his role as the co-Medical Director for Health Connections where he looks forward to improving quality health care to employees, employers and the greater mid-coast community. He joined Pen Bay Healthcare in 2006.

Dianne Prosser
Dianne is Systoc Super User and Billing Manager and Health Connections Resource Person. She has been with Pen Bay Healthcare for nine years. She has an associate's degree from Westbrook College, where she was an English major.

What does she like best about her job? "The diversity of my position and the ability to continually learn, change and improve Health Connections."

Christy Rousseau
Christy is a Physician's Assistant at Health Connections. She has been with Pen Bay Healthcare since 1999, when she worked in the Emergency Department at Penobscot Bay Medical Center. She joined Health Connections in 2004.

She graduated from the University of New England's Physician Assistant Program in 1998 with a master's degree and completed a post-graduate internship with the State of Maine Medical Examiner's Office. She is a member of the adjunct faculty at UNE.
