New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Patriot's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day,Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day

Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is observed on the preceding Friday or following Monday. If your child is normally scheduled to attend on those days, your weekly tuition is prorated.

SUMMER and WINTER HOLIDAY BREAKS
The weeks that include the July 4th holiday and Christmas Eve to New Year’s holidays are popular times for families to take time off. Likewise, our staff enjoys time with their families. During these weeks, we are open on an extremely limited basis, maximum of 20 children (minimum of 10). Registration for these weeks is on a first-come, first serve basis, with priority given to Pen Bay Healthcare employees, and held during the annual enrollment for all parents, in August. Only families who have to work and have no other childcare alternatives may register. Any child not attending during the Holiday Weeks will receive tuition-waived vacation. Additional registration guidelines are listed on the contract.

STORM DAYSchild playing in the snow
Since many of our parents work within the Pen Bay Healthcare system, the center is OPEN on most storm days. Should the PBH Administration close in extremely severe conditions, the closing will be announced on local radio stations as "PBMC CREATIVE LEARNING and CHILDCARE CENTER."

FAMILY - TEACHER GROUP and FUNDRAISING
Our group meets periodically and consists of parents, teachers, and local supporters of our Center. The structure and purpose of the group may change over time to meet the needs of the individuals involved and the Center. Possible activities of this group include establishing yearly goals and action plans for physical and programmatic needs, discussion and advising on Center policies and procedures, collaboration in special events, and fundraising. Your participation and ideas are always welcome.

VISITORS and VOLUNTEERS
We welcome and encourage parents and legal guardians to visit and/or participate in classroom activities at any time. Other visitors, such as grandparents, perspective new parents, and interviewing job candidates are also welcome to observe and participate in classroom activities. We do ask that childcare duties (teaching, supervision, feeding, changing, and holding) be left to our teaching staff or individual children’s parents or guardians.

Do you have or know of someone with a special talent that could be shared with the children? Reading stories to the children, facilitating a special art or science project, or participating in a lively game of t-ball on our playground are just a few ideas. Volunteers are always a welcome addition to our program, either one-time or on an ongoing basis. For more information regarding volunteering, please contact Judi Trenholm, PBMC Volunteer Services Director, at 207-596-8553 or jtrenholm@penbayhealthcare.org.
