Flu Shot Listings
The Pen Bay Healthcare walk-in flu clinic will be closed after Feb. 24. Housed at and administered by Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice, at 170 Pleasant St., Rockland, the clinic has provided H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccinations, which will be available for the last time from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Anyone who wants a flu vaccination after Wednesday, Feb. 24, should contact their primary care physician or check the state website, maineflu.gov for a listing of flu shot clinics around Maine. Updated: 14:23:29 2010-02-23 Expectations are that this flu season will see two different strains of flu, both seasonal and H1N1. Because it is expected that the H1N1 vaccine will not be ready for distribution until the latter part of October, Kno-Wal-Lin is attempting to schedule as many clinics as possible for the seasonal flu vaccine before then. For more information about the seasonal flu and the H1N1 flu, please call the Maine CDC Flu Hotline at 1-888-257-0990 on Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Penobscot Bay Medical Center website, at pbmc.org/flu, links through to Maine and federal CDC webpages for additional information.
