Diabetes education is covered under most insurance plans; some also reuimburse for other nutritional counseling. Check with your insurer about your policy. If you do not have insurance, please call 596-8267 to apply for financial assistance.
Each initial appointment takes about an hour and includes a complete assessment of the clients' understanding of diet related to their concern, curernt and past dietary efforts and other health and nutrition issues. Based upon the assessment, education on the topics important for that client begins. We provide the tools needed to make dietary change for improved health.
After the initial consult, an individual follow-up visit is usually set up in about 2-4 weeks. Most people need 1-2 followup visits, but the extent of followup is based upon the participant's needs.
