Dr. Paul F. Barresi Returns to Penobscot Bay Medical Center

Anesthesiologist Paul F. Barresi has rejoined the active medical staff at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.

Barresi worked at PBMC from 1987-89 before leaving for the Portland area, where he was a founder of Maine Anesthesiology, which supplies anesthesia services to Mercy Hospital and Intermed Surgery Center. He's been at Mercy Hospital in Portland since 1988.

Barresi grew up in Rhode Island. A graduate of Colby College, he has a master's degree in microbiology from UMass/Amherst; his medical degree is from Boston University. He did his residency in anesthesiology at the Harvard Hospitals in Boston: Brigham and Women's, Boston Children's, Beth Israel Deaconess and Massachusetts General. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

His hobbies include skiing, biking, music and motorcycles. He lives in Camden.
