Dr. William Master is the New President of the PBMC Medical Staff

Penobscot Bay Medical Center is pleased to announce that Dr. William Master is the new President of the Active Medical Staff as of this fiscal year.

As chief medical officer of the hospital, Dr. Master acts as a day-to-day liaison with the Pen Bay Healthcare Board and the chief executive officer. He also reports on the medical activities of the staff and represents their views and needs to the Board and CEO.

Dr. Master has been at PBMC since 2000, practicing as an internist with offices in the Physicians Building. In May of this year he left his practice to join the hospitalist staff. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and served his residency in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, and his special interests are in cardiology and renal issues.

Dr. Master succeeds Dr. Joel LaFleur, whose two-year term ended in March. The medical staff extends its heartfelt thanks for Dr. LaFleur's service.
