Assisted Living Celebration Planned at Quarry Hill
“Homemade Happiness” will be the theme as Quarry Hill celebrates National Assisted Living Week, September 8–14, with an open house and other special events.
The open house, scheduled for Wednesday, September 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill, offers area families a chance to visit Quarry Hill’s assisted living community, meet residents and staff, and pick up free literature on helping loved ones make the transition to assisted living. Belfast Bay Fiddlers will provide live entertainment, beginning at 6 pm. All are welcome; admission and refreshments will be free.
Additional Assisted Living Week events based on the “homemade” concept, will include “Homemade Entertainment,” showcasing the talents of residents and their family members; a “Taste of Home” baking contest; “Game Day,” featuring a variety of homemade carnival games; “Home Is Where the Art Is,” highlighting residents’ and family members’ arts and crafts; and more.
Friends and relatives of Quarry Hill’s assisted living residents are encouraged to participate in the week’s activities. For more information, please call the Activities Office at 230-6250.
According to the website of The National Center for Assisted Living, sponsor of National Assisted Living Week, this year’s celebration emphasizes “the connection that occurs in communities between the staff, residents, and families as they build warm, welcoming, and vibrant homes” for America’s elders.
