Founded by the Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation in 1993, The Legacy Society is composed of individuals and couples who are committed to leaving a planned gift to benefit one of the partner organizations of Pen Bay Healthcare: Penobscot Bay Medical Center, The Knox Center for Long-term Care, Kno-Wal-Lin Home Health Care and Hospice, Mid-Coast Mental Health Center and the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill.

The Wellspring Society was founded in 2003 to help maintain and provide the highest quality medical care available—from birth until death—for the more than 50,000 people residing in Midcoast Maine.
