Donations also support educational programs for the clinical  staffs, prescription drug assistance, Alzheimer's programs, cancer care, social services for young families, hospice care, home health care, construction and renovation of facilities, and numerous other programs and services to meet the needs in our community. These gifts may be restricted or unrestricted. If restricted, the restriction may take the form of designating the entity or activity for which the funds are to be used; the restriction can also limit the amount that may be expended from the gift, such as income from interest only. Your gift will only be used for the purpose that you designate at the time of your donation and will be managed in a manner that fulfills that purpose. We will be glad to discuss your objectives with you.

As the community healthcare system serving Midcoast Maine, Pen Bay Healthcare has two key goals: to provide residents with the highest quality medical care available and to meet the medical needs of community members, regardless of their ability to pay.

To help PBH meet these goals, the Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation works with donors to establish endowments, trusts, funds and planned gifts to provide long-term financial support for the institution's partner organizations, programs and services. Funds derived through contributions to the Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation supplement the annual budget and assure the stable, ongoing financial well being of the institution.

New to the Philanthropy web-site is the ability to make a secure on-line gift simply by clicking on the “Give Now” button found on each web page.  When you click on the button it will open an interactive form that you may fill out to electronically make a donation. Within the web-site you will also find information about annual gifts as well as planned gifts. We have just reorganized the site to make it more user friendly and give you the ability to find donation information when and where you need it.
