Raising Money, Awareness, for Alzheimer's Association

With a flotilla of plastic ducks and a swingin' band, the Knox Center's Memory Walk team shared an afternoon of fun and dancing on Sunday, Aug. 30 with Knox Center residents and community members as they raised awareness of and money for treatment and research of Alzheimer's disease. In this photo, Knox Center resident Gertrude Cook enjoys a dance with Don Gross, Knox Center administrator.

Attendees enjoyed an afternoon of swing music and dancing, and cheered on the plastic ducks as they floated down the stream in a 50/50 duck race raffle. The West Bay Rotary generously loaned their veteran racing ducks for the event.

All proceeds from the party went to the Maine Alzheimer's Association to benefit their annual Memory Walk campaign. The MidCoast Memory Walk will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 26. For more information about the walk and the Alzheimer's Association, visit www.alz.org/maine.
