Quarry Hill Plans Paws-itive Experience for Dog Lovers Quarry Hill in Camden will host its first-ever community dog show, featuring the pets of residents, family, and staff members, on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the parking area in front of the Anderson Inn (weather permitting). The public (humans only, please!) is invited to watch the festivities. Admission is free. Planned to coincide with National Homeless Pet Day, the morning's varied agenda will appeal to dog lovers of every bark and yip. - Daryl Conner of Yankee Clipper Pet Grooming in Rockport, joined by representatives from the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League and a local veterinary hospital, will choose top dogs in categories ranging from smallest and largest to best costume, most obedient, and just plain cutest.
- Canine Connections owner Tom Lambert will show off his dogs' agility skills.
- A spokesperson from the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League will share thoughts on the problem of homeless pets in the midcoast area.
- Quarry Hill's activity director will recognize four therapy dogs who regularly visit the retirement community's assisted living and nursing-care residents.
