KWL Card Party Raises $1,900 for Scholarships

KWL Card Party Group

The annual Kno-Wal-Lin Card Party, held June 19 in Thomaston, raised $1,900 for the Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice scholarship fund, which helps the agency's staff with the cost of continuing education. This year's event was dedicated to the memory of Betty Cowan, past president and vice president of the Kno-Wal-Lin Auxiliary, who passed away unexpectedly just weeks before. Pictured here, from left, are Jeanette Small of Warren, Claire Coffey of Owls Head, Linda McFarland of Rockport, Colleen Newcomb of Spruce Head, Gail Schatzle of Rockland, Nancy Ludwig of Thomaston and Fran Quinn of Spruce Head. The card party art print raffle prizes included "Irises," by Lynn Snow, won by B.R. Steele of Camden and "Belted Galloways" by David Henderson, won by Jeanne Bulanchuk of St. George. KWL extends a special thank you to Small Wonders Gallery, Camden, for donating the framing for the Henderson print.
