Annual Community Health & Safety Fair Scheduled for Nov. 8, offering a wide variety of displays, demonstrations & discussion

The annual Pen Bay Healthcare Community Health and Safety Fair will be held on Nov. 8 at Rockland District High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year's featured events include:

  • Free flu shots for children and adults
  • Safety tips and free gun locks from local law enforcement officials
  • Healthy lifestyle information on yoga, massage and homeopathic methods
  • Car seat safety checks
  • Activities for children and young families
  • Healthy cooking demonstrations
  • Cholesterol, blood pressure and hearing screenings

Adults who are 55 years of age or older or who have long-term health problems qualify for a free flu shot. Also, the health fair will provide free shots to children who are 6 months to five years old, or to older children who have a chronic illness. Receiving a flu shot in November ensures immunity for the duration of the season as its effects can last through March.

Staff from all members of the Pen Bay Healthcare family of services will be joined by physicians and other community wellness groups and organizations to share their knowledge and expertise with attendees on a wide range of health and wellness topics. Online: pbmc.org/healthfair
