Penobscot Bay Medical Center's Fifth Annual
Happy Birthday Baby Party to be Held on Aug. 10
Activities, car seat checks, 'swap shop' featured
The fifth annual Happy Birthday Baby Party will be held at Penobscot Bay Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the front lawn of the hospital. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket so they can sit outside and enjoy the party in comfort.
The party hosts and hostesses are the maternity nurses, midwives, physicians and support staff at PBMC. All Midcoast families with babies born or adopted in the past year are invited, regardless of whether the baby was born at PBMC.
"The event is an opportunity to celebrate the first year of a baby's life as well as the skilled, dedicated people who provide services and care to women and their families," said Maggi Blue, Community Relations Coordinator, Pen Bay Healthcare.
There will be fun family games—including the Diaper Dash—a photo booth, healthy snacks and birthday cake. A panel of providers will speak with families about water safety, nutrition, sleep habits and nurturing routines. Car seat checks will also be available.
A "swap shop" for gently used baby supplies will give parents a chance to exchange toys, laundered clothes and other baby items.
