Quarry Hill to Host Talk on Hearing and Aging

Midcoast Speech and Hearing audiologist Dr. Craig Daunheimer will discuss "Hearing and Aging: What You Need to Know," an Adventures in Living Well program, on Tuesday, June 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden. Reservations for Dr. Daunheimer's talk, offered free of charge for adults age 55 and better, may be made by calling Quarry Hill at 230-6114.

Dr. Daunheimer will explain how hearing changes with advancing age; tell how to recognize the signs of a developing hearing problem; offer strategies that can help keep the lines of communication open; and review treatment options for various forms of hearing loss, including the latest in hearing aid technology. Light refreshments will be served.

The summer Adventures series will continue in July and August. Author and cook Nancy Harmon Jenkins will offer "The Maine Table: How to Buy, Prepare, and Thrive on Maine-Grown Foods" on Wednesday, July 16, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Quarry Hill. Author and historian Ann Morris will present "On the Brink: Letters from France, 1938–1939," based on letters Morris's aunt wrote home from France in the year leading up to the Nazi invasion, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Camden Public Library.
