Thanking those who help create "Knox Magic"

On April 29, the Knox Center for Long Term Care recognized its many dedicated volunteers at a special appreciation dinner. As a token of their appreciation for all that the Knox Center's volunteers do, patients prepared gift bags and signed cards for all the attendees.

Pen Bay Healthcare President and CEO Roy Hitchings and Knox Center Administrator Don Gross spoke, thanking the volunteers for their contributions to the community and their caring involvement in the lives of others.Knox Center volunteers

"We are deeply grateful for all that our volunteers do for patients and staff at the Knox Center on a daily basis," said Gross. "They are an integral part of our team, and help us create the 'Knox Magic' we have become known for in the community."

Knox Center volunteers provided more than 2,000 hours of service in 2007. Two volunteers were particularly outstanding in the number of hours served during the year: Stephen Young of Rockland with 491 hours, and Timothy Concoran of Rockland with 326 hours. Knox Center patients
