Susan Folk, RN, Receives
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care

Susan Folk, RN, of Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice has completed requirements for the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. Certification involves a process that validates and evaluates expertise in the specialty area of hospice and palliative care nursing and defines mastery of the body of knowledge of comfort care and end of life care.

Folk has been a nurse for 13 years, including recent service in Turkey where her husband, Kirk, was stationed with the United States Air Force. The Folks have two sons, 11 and 7, and live in Rockland

Certification from the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association is based both on experience and an examination. It requires a comprehensive review of the current knowledge of comfort and end-of-life care and represents a commitment to excellence and expertise in that area of practice.

Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice has been serving the communities of Knox, Waldo and Lincoln counties for more than 40 years and is a member of the Pen Bay Healthcare family.
