Quarry Hill to Offer AARP Driver Safety Course

Quarry Hill Retirement Community invites drivers age 50 and over to attend a two-day AARP Driver Safety Program on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden.

With the help of AARP instructor Don Lunt, participants will refine their existing skills while learning new strategies for safe, defensive driving. Upon successfully completing the course, drivers may be eligible to receive a state-mandated multiyear discount on their auto insurance premiums. Since 1979, more than 9 million people have completed the course.

The Driver Safety Program covers vision and hearing changes, effects of medication, reaction-time changes, left turns and other right-of-way situations, new laws, and hazardous situations.

Please call 230-6114 to make a reservation. Participants must attend both sessions and pay a $10 fee at the door to cover instruction and materials. Membership in AARP is not a course prerequisite.
