Susan Storer, RN, has become the third nurse in the Cancer Center at Penobscot Bay Medical Center to receive a special oncology certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation, a national group which develops, administers, and evaluates programs for certification in oncology nursing.  The Cancer Care Center recently received a Certificate of Recognition from ONCC stating that more than 50 percent of staff members are ONCC certified. The certified nurses are Ruth Calderwood, RN, OCN (certified since 1998); Holly Carlson, RN, OCN (certified since 2005) and Storer, who is newly certified. "This specialized nursing certification is a great achievement," said Roy Hitchings, President and CEO, Pen Bay Healthcare. "It is another example of our commitment to excellence in patient care."
