Quarry Hill Offers Artful Preview of Spring
The forecast calls for a burst of spring on Friday, March 28, this year, as Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden presents "Maine Is a Garden," an Adventures in Living Well program with special appeal for art lovers age 55 and over. The free event runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill; reservations are required and may be made by calling Quarry Hill at 230-6114.
Offered in partnership with the Center for Maine Contemporary Art’s "Fear No Art" outreach program, the slide presentation by CMCA education director Cathy Melio will highlight works of art inspired by flowers, gardens, and landscapes. Among the works featured will be paintings, prints, sculpture, pottery, and photography. Light refreshments will be served.
After the March program, the winter/spring Adventures in Living Well season will continue with "The History and Evolution of Windjammers," on Wednesday, April 23; and "Writing About Aging: Literary Reflections on Late Life," on Friday, May 16. Both will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill and are offered at no charge. To register, please call Quarry Hill at 230-6114.
