A glamorous treat at the
Knox Center for Long Term Care
Since 2005, staff at the Knox Center for Long Term Care have provided an annual Glamour Day for residents. Activities and nursing staff, assisted by volunteers, help residents fix their hair and assist them with picking out scarves, jewelry and other accessories.
Cyndi Clayton, meeting and events manager, Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation, often assists with makeup, helping to bring out the natural beauty of each lady. Sara Hatfield, Executive Assistant at the Knox Center, takes the glamour photos and prints them for families or for display.

"We appreciate the community effort involved in making special activities at the Knox Center a reality," said Don Gross, Knox Center Administrator. "It is truly heartwarming to see the care and respect shown to the special elders of our community -- from the volunteers and staff who provide their time to the individuals and organizations who donate the use of supplies, props and equipment."
