Scott Ewen is Pen Bay Healthcare Employee of the Month

"Thank you for coming today!” is heard daily from Scott Ewen, Activity department member at the Knox Center for Long Term Care. “He always thanks people and folks really appreciate it. He is so helpful. Anytime, anything you need, Ewen is there. Even on weekends. He always makes everyone around him smile.”
These are just some of the many wonderful comments made by Scott Ewen’s colleagues at the Knox Center in support of his nomination as Pen Bay Healthcare’s Employee of the Month for June.
A 16-year, faithful employee, Ewen is well-loved by staff and colleagues and truly cares about the welfare of the Pen Bay community. He can often be found sharing snacks, treats and games with everyone, plus above all, lots of laughter. Colleagues noted that he is always willing to help, often dropping everything to accommodate patients’ needs.
Ewen's response to his nomination? "Jeepers! Thank you all so much! It’s all of you [co-workers and residents] that make my job interesting. I’d get paid in diet Moxie if I had to.” Ewen loves Moxie and co-workers “pay” him for going above and beyond for them with Moxie twelve-packs.
Ewen, his wife and daughter are Cushing residents. In his spare time, he loves to travel, is an avid ham radio operator and volunteers at the Knox County Emergency Management Agency office.
Residents and colleagues of the Pen Bay community celebrated Ewen’s selection as Employee of the Month with a surprise presentation and cake. Many dropped in to share laughs and congratulate him.
