Health Screenings

Online: pbmc.org/urology

On Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, Pen Bay Urology will offer free prostate screenings.

Pen Bay Urology is located just off Route 1 in Rockport, on the campus of Penobscot Bay Medical Center.  Click for directions. (new window)

Drs. Martyn Vickers, John Karod and Lars Ellison will conduct PSA testing. The screening consists of an easy 10-minute blood test and a brief physical exam which could alert your physician to a possible problem.

No appointment is needed for the prostate screening. For more information, pelase call (207) 593-5400.

"Prostate cancer is a serious disease. Fortunately it usually progresses slowly so that early detection and treatment can make a difference," said Karod.

Men older than 50 should have annual prostate screenings. Any man with a father or brother with prostate cancer should be evaluated annually after age 40.
