About Us

Founded in 1966, Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice, with offices in Rockland, Belfast and Newcastle, has consistently served the people of Knox, Waldo and Lincoln Counties for more than 35 years.

Kno-Wal-Lin (KWL) is a full service, state licensed home care agency and is Medicare and Medicaid Certified. Its services provide skilled home health care, hospice and palliative care, and private duty, client-directed home care support and companion services in your familiar home setting. KWL's services are proudly provided by staff living in your community, caring for our community.

Our staff provide care seven days per week, 365 days per year, with professional staff available 24 hours a day through our on call system. We are ready to help you assess unexpected needs that may arise outside of usual business hours.

Kno-Wal-Lin's programs offer professional nursing services; physical, occupational and speech therapy; social work services; home health aides, certified nursing assistants, personal care assistants, companion homemakers, and visiting and auxiliary volunteers. Specialty services provided include wound care, ostomy care and continence management through a nationally certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse (WOCN), Home IV Therapy, Hospice and Palliative Care. Our programs are supported within our communities and guided by Volunteer Medical Directors and volunteer advisory committees and community members in the board of trustees.

Our Help At Home program is a not-for-profit, private duty, state licensed program serving Mid-Coast Maine since 1981. Help At Home provides personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, scheduled transportation,  and companionship in the privacy of your own home. Our registered nurses provide an assessment of your needs and together with the client and family customize a plan that will provide the level of care that is required.   We will be glad to arrange a scheduled of services just right for you.
