Quarry Hill to Celebrate Anniversary with Big Band Bash
Quarry Hill invites one and all to a nostalgic, 1940s-style big-band bash, featuring live entertainment courtesy of the Lincolnville Community Band, on Saturday, June 13, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden. The event will mark the retirement community’s seventh anniversary.
Golden oldies from the days of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman will strike the keynote for the outdoor event, as guests old enough to remember take an imaginary trip back to the war years. Adding to the atmosphere will be vintage posters and magazine ads, plus free refreshments reminiscent of the time when Pepsi was king and mayonnaise a food group unto itself.
Visitors will have opportunities to tour Quarry Hill residences and enter drawings for a variety of 1940s-era gifts every half-hour during the two-hour event.
Admission is free. In case of rain, the festivities will take place indoors at the Anderson Inn.
