Neurologist to Speak on Stroke

Neurologist Dr. Robert Stein will present “What’s New in the Prevention and Treatment of Stroke,” an information session specially designed for adults age 55-plus, on Wednesday, May 14, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Quarry Hill in Camden. Planned in observance of National Stroke Awareness Month, the event is part of Quarry Hill’s “Going Strong” series on topics concerning health and wellness in later life.
Dr. Stein will cover the latest in stroke prevention and care. He will also explain how Pen Bay Healthcare’s Anticoagulation Services department works to prevent stroke. Dr. Stein is medical director of Clinical Research and Anticoagulation Services, as well as chief of neurology at Pen Bay Healthcare. He is known throughout midcoast Maine and beyond for his expertise in preventing and treating stroke.
Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and a leading cause of serious, long-term adult disability. It is the particular focus of the Primary Stroke Center at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, one of four certified Primary Care Stroke Centers in Maine.
