Going Strong: Vision Issues

Adults age 55 and better are invited to attend an educational program on “Vision Issues,” on Monday, March 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Quarry Hill in Camden. This free event is part of the senior-living community’s Going Strong series, focusing on health issues of particular concern to older adults.
Presenters will include Shannon Burns, LSW, rehabilitation counselor; Coretta Cooper, COMS, orientation and mobility specialist; and Aisha Hixon, CVRT, CTRS, vision rehabilitation therapist, Maine Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The session will cover common vision issues and treatment options and include tips on minimizing age-related vision changes. Also included will be information on resources available to those coping with impaired sight.
