Consider the Conversation: Free Screening on Advanced Care Planning

July 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free

Please join Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice for a free screening of “Consider the Conversation,” a documentary film about advance care planning on Tuesday, July 15 from 6-7:30 p.m..

None of us can predict what tomorrow may bring. That’s why it’s important to make our health care wishes known. This hour long film, which addresses advance care planning issues head on, is relevant to all age groups whether we are considering how we would like to live our final days here on earth or looking to honor the wishes and needs of our parents or loved ones as they face difficult decisions.

The film was released to PBS stations throughout the country in June 2011 and has created intense interest nationwide. It encourages viewers to consider what is important to them and why it is important to communicate those wishes sooner than later. An expert panel with Robert Wall, FNP, PMHNP, Kno-Wal-Lin’s hospice & palliative care nurse practitioner; Heidi McCaffery, LSW, CHPCA, Kno-Wal-Lin’s hospice & palliative care director; and Sarah Dwelley, RN, CHPN, Pen Bay Medical Center’s palliative care coordinator, will facilitate discussion following the film and answer questions.

The program is cosponsored in collaboration with the Rockland Public Library.
